Challenge Soccer Teams

Challenge soccer is for players who are seeking a higher level of competition than what can be offered at the recreation level. These are players who are looking for further development in their individual and team soccer skills. It also serves as an introduction to parents and players to the commitment required of travel soccer.

Practices will be held twice a week, usually 1 ½ to 2 hours long.  For the fall, practices begin in August and run until mid-November.   Spring training starts in February and runs until mid-May.  These are just practices for season games.  Tournament practices, depending on the tournaments, may extend past these dates.  Players are expected to be at all practices.  The days your team will train on are set by the coach.

One practice a week will include a one-hour session run by Soccer Genome professional coaches.  This additional training is included in our registration fees.

Our 2025-2026 Fee Schedule:

Travel soccer at FWSC consists of our Challenge and Classic teams.  We play in the NCFC youth challenge league, which includes travel to towns like Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary, Garner, Holly Springs or Knightdale.  Practices are typically two nights a week for our Challenge teams (one night as a team practice, the other with professional coaching from Soccer Genome coaches).  Registration fee INCLUDES professional coaching sessions.

An account MUST be created for all interested players.  If you are not already registered with our league, please create an account in the Parent's Name and then add your player as a participant within that account.

FWSC asks that you register for tryouts ahead of time.  If you arrive at tryouts without registering first, you MUST complete registration that evening for your child to participate in tryouts.  Registration fees are not due until after being selected for a team.  Tryout fees are nonrefundable.

UNIFORMS: Uniforms are used for a two-year cycle. Fall 2024 started our new cycle and runs thru Spring of 2026. Every player will be responsible for purchasing his/her own uniform Kit which will include; 1 Grey Jersey, 1 Blue Jersey, 1 Blue Shorts, 1 Grey Shorts, 1 Blue pair of socks, 1 Grey pair of socks, one Practice Shirt. Estimated cost for a set is $185
